Taken on a California road trip in January of 2019, during the longest government shutdown in U.S. history. We arrived in the park just as the sun was beginning to set. We ran to get to a spot with a decent overview of the pinnacles. The drive to see these pinnacles was something of a “side quest” - it was just something for us to stop and see on the way from Joshua Tree to Death Valley. Little did I know, seeing this place during sunset would become one of my favorite experiences ever. These photos are the end result.
